If you’ve ever had a GoFundMe account, you know how important it is to close it if you don’t want any money from donors. But what if you don’t have the time or energy to close your account? Here are some tips to help close your GoFundMe account quickly and easily:

  1. Make sure all of your information is up-to-date. Update your contact information, your account’s settings, and anything else that might need to be changed.
  2. Cancel any donations that haven’t been received yet. If donors have given money to your account but haven’t received their donation yet, cancel their donation and give them a refund.
  3. Contact donors who haven’t received their donation yet and ask them to send back the money they’ve already given. If donors can’t reach you or they don’t have a phone number, they can email you the money instead.
  4. Delete any old donations that haven’t been used or sent back to donors. This will help reduce the amount of traffic on your site and make it easier for new donors to find your page.

Your campaign will be deactivated if you do not access it for a sufficient length of time to allow everyone who has donated to the page to cancel their pledges. It’s usually best not to reactivate your campaign until it is no longer visible, since doing so may cause donors’ pledges to be accepted.

To withdraw funds, go to the withdrawal interface. Click ‘Withdraw’ while logged into your account and follow the on-screen instructions. You may withdraw your balance immediately to your bank account. Bank transfers take approximately 2-5 business days to complete.

Because of the fees associated with administering a GoFundMe campaign, there is no platform charge for organizing. However, when you make a donation to help us function safely and securely, our payment processors charge transaction costs (which include debit and credit expenses) from each contribution. Campaign beneficiaries receive all funds collected, less transaction costs.
