If you’re like most people, you probably rely on your smartphone to help you plan your day. But what if your phone doesn’t have the level of detail that you need? Or what if you’re out of range of a map or GPS app? Luckily, there are other ways to check your guide level. You can use a local map or guidebook, or even ask a local for directions. Just be sure to confirm the guide level before starting out – some areas may be more difficult than others due to recent changes. ..


To become a Local Guide, visit the forum and sign in with your Google account. You may then start a discussion and respond to other members’ posts. You can also customize your community experience, suggest ideas, and vote on the ones you like best. We recommend that Local Guides frequent Connect and engage.

You won’t get compensated for being a local guide. Google Localguides is a volunteer initiative in which you can contribute your expertise on Google Maps locations you’ve visited. For your adventures, Google may give you some perks.

There are new Google Local Guides levels, more points, rewards, and new badges. The amount of generosity to its Local Guides has increased. There are now 10 levels in the Local Guides program.

Select “Follow” from the drop-down menu on a Local Guide’s profile page. To view the feed of material from people you follow, go to the left-hand navigation and select “Following.” The “Following” page appears, where you may see postings created by your favorite Local Guides.

Local Guides with at least Level 6 may apply to preview new Google Maps features before they’re released. The application required me to describe my device and nothing else.
