If you’re a business owner or manager, you know that WhatsApp is one of your most important communication tools. It’s a free messaging app that’s used by millions of people around the world, and it can be difficult to keep up with all the changes that are happening in the industry. One way to keep your WhatsApp account active and current is to set up a personal account. This will allow you to communicate with your friends and family on your own terms, without having to worry about the restrictions that come with a business account. To set up a personal WhatsApp account, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your WhatsApp account. If you’re using an iPhone or Android device, this process will likely require you to sign in through your Facebook or Google Account.
  2. In the top left corner of your screen, click on “Settings.” This will take you to the “Accounts” section of your WhatsApp settings page.
  3. In this section, click on “Personal.” This will open a new window where you can set up your new personal WhatsApp account.
  4. In this window, enter in your name and email address (if you have them). You’ll also need to choose a password for your new account. Click on “Create Account.”
  5. Once you’ve created your new personal WhatsApp account, log in and start using it!

Transferring your business: Keep the WhatsApp Business app open and your phone turned on until the account transfer is finished. You might be prompted to restore from your backup while the transfer takes place automatically. Select Next if asked.

Select Settings Chats Chat Backup Back up. Ensure that you’re using the correct Google Drive or iCloud account and that you want to back up video files as well. Uninstall the WhatsApp Business account after you’ve backed up your data to Google Drive or iCloud.

You can delete the WhatsApp Business account from your phone. Open your account and select the three dots. Select “Settings Account Delete my account” and then type in your old mobile number.

For individuals who utilize business and personal phone numbers, both the WhatsApp Business and Messenger apps can be used on the same device and linked to your various numbers. WhatsApp Web, the app’s desktop web browser client, is also compatible with WhatsApp Business.

To be clear, WhatsApp Business to WhatsApp Messenger isn’t supported at this time. If you switch back to WhatsApp Messenger, not only will business features be lost but also the conversations and media saved while using WhatsApp Business.
