If you’re a Spotify user, there’s a good chance you’ve heard of the company’s “cancellation policy.” If not, it’s time to learn about it. Spotify offers a few ways to cancel your account: by phone, in person at one of their stores, or online. The process is pretty simple: first, go to your account page and click on the “Cancel Account” button. Then follow the prompts to complete your cancellation. If you have an Echo device or speaker, you can also cancel your account by voice commands. Just say “Alexa,” “Cancel Account,” and then the name of your Spotify account (or any other account if you have multipleSpotify accounts). You can also cancel your account if you’re not subscribed to any music services. Once your cancellation is complete, all of your music will be deleted from both your devices and Spotify will send out an email notification telling you that the subscription has been cancelled. If you’ve already added new music to either device or if you’re using an Echo device or speaker that doesn’t support voice commands, all of your old music will still be there but it won’t play until you re-subscribe or change your password.
If you don’t see an option to cancel your Spotify subscription on the page of your account, it’s possible that you joined up using a third-party provider like iTunes or a broadband/mobile carrier. If this is the case, you must contact the firm in charge of your payments.
