If you’re a Scribd user, there’s a good chance you’ve heard of the company’s cancellation policy. If not, here’s a quick overview:

  1. If you cancel your Scribd account within 30 days of signing up, you’ll be charged $5 per month for the year.
  2. If you cancel your Scribd account more than once in a year, you’ll be charged $10 per month for the year.
  3. If you cancel your Scribd account within 72 hours of receiving an email from Scribd about your account being cancelled, your account will be immediately cancelled and all content will be deleted.

I have another question about canceling my Scribd account. Can I get some help?

We are sorry that you want to end your relationship with us. Unfortunately we cannot add anything further to our Terms of Use as they are written out clearly within it.

Can’t I just change from one plan to another instead of canceling? Can’t I just downgrade from Premium back to Premium-Free?

You can only downgrade to the same plan that you signed up on our website. If the same plan is no longer available, you will not be able to cancel. Please note that if you upgrade from any free trial or promotion and do not cancel prior to your next billing date, you will be charged by your selected payment method on file at the time of your upgrade according to our Terms of Use.

I am currently outside of my contract and would like to cancel my Scribd subscription as I no longer wish to pay for it. What should I do?

Since your account was created and billed while you were within a valid credit period, you must adhere by its terms until it has expired. You may cancel at any time, but for the avoidance of doubt even if you do not wish to be charged after your current credit period has expired, you must remain a subscriber until the end of that billing cycle. You may only terminate your account before cancellation if we terminate our agreement with you in accordance with our Terms of Use.

I am having trouble canceling my Scribd subscription from my Android device. How can I get support?

If you are having an issue on your Android device, please email us directly at [email protected] so we can help resolve your issue right away. Please note that due to the volume of emails we receive daily, it may take some extra time for us to respond to you since this is the only way we can get in touch with our users.

Scribd is a digital library where membership is paid and free ebook content is available. The Scribd reading app offers access to more than one million ebooks, audiobooks, comics, sheet music and thousands of newspapers at our library (available in English only).

You may cancel a subscription through your account settings after logging into the site or app, or by sending an email to [email protected], from the Scribd Support website.

Log in to your Scribd account and scroll down to the bottom until you see “Delete Your Account” Then click on it.

You can cancel your subscription by opening the Google Play app and tapping Subscriptions from the top menu. Select the one you want to cancel, then tap Cancel subscription. Follow these instructions to complete cancellation.
